Working with various departments to ensure accurate and timely movements of product to and from customers, suppliers and Tree Island locations.  



  • Coordinate and schedule transportation throughout North America in accordance with the shipping schedule.
  • Negotiate and approve spot rate quotations. 
  • Combine individual customer orders to build Truckloads based on geography and cost efficiency, or move LTL in the most cost-efficient manner as needed.
  • Communicate directly with transportation companies to schedule outbound loads, inbound deliveries and container pick-ups.
  • Data entry of purchase orders into ERP System for inbound and outbound freight.
  • Reconciliation and closing of Transportation Purchase Orders.
  • In-transit shipment tracking for all outbound shipments.
  • Arrange and track customer returns.
  • Coordinate and communicate workload and workflow with Customer Service, scheduling, and shipping to ensure accurate shipping of orders.
  • Assist Shipping Department in directing drivers and completing shipping paperwork as needed.
  • Generate shipping and customs documentation for U.S.-bound shipments.
  • Other duties related to the above.



  • 2 - 3 years’ experience in a Transportation and/or Logistics role.
  • Diploma or Degree in Transportation and/or Logistics.
  • Well-developed computer skills with proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Excellent geographical knowledge of North America.
  • Knowledge of trucking industry standards and load management.
  • Must be able to multi task without direct supervision combining excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Experience with ERP Systems; QAD/MFGPro is an asset.
